| Patient who had experienced circulatory trauma
with amputation of the front incisors. We made a central incision with unloading,
extraction of the residue and centre of area. |
Using a fissure bur, we perforated the apex of
the alveoli and walls thereof, causing both cavities to bleed profusely. |
We started with Expander no. 1, Art. no. 1025 |
| We continued with Expander no. 3, Art. no.
2938, for implants of diameter 3 to 3.30 mm, then inserted Expander no. 4 for implants of
diameter 3.80 to 4.20 mm. |
Since our goal was to achieve greater contact
surface between the alveolus and implant, we used Expander no. 5 Art. no. 4452, for
implants of diameter 5 mm. Bleeding was profuse and we only used a starter bur. |
The 5 mm implants is ideal for replacement of
upper front incisors in fractures or failed implants since it has a seating surface more
than twice that of a standard implant and the subsequent emergence profile of the crown is
more aesthetically pleasing. We finished with membrane placement and suture. |
